Meet G STRIFE (fka cloutstrife)

Editor: Kanpeki – 11/29/2020

G STRIFE was born and raised in a city named Kinston, North Carolina. A small city, about over an hour away from Raleigh, the Capital. Its a typical small town, where everyone knows everybody. They’re known for their output of NBA players as well as having a high crime rate for a small city. A couple months ago a lady was set on fire in broad day light, to put things into into perspective.

STRIFE‘s music has varied a bit throughout his career, but it can best be described as ambient with dark overtones and full of self reflection. His inspirations come from a variety of places such as 90’s/2000’s music, anime, and movies.

In his eyes, his biggest accomplishment so when me and Wulfmvco opened for Xavier Wulf on the East Memphis Maniac tour up the west coast. All through California up to Washington

The Album below is STRIFE‘s newest release “LUNAR OCEANS II“, a sequel to his 2019 EP “LUNAR OCEANS“.

– In STRIFE‘s words: “The name Strife means ‘to go against/fight against/disagree with something.’ Using ‘cloutstrife’ was a play on Cloud Strife (a character in the JRPG game released in 1997 for the PS1 titled Final Fantasy VII) and also me referring to strife against clout and hype culture.I took it out of the name because of misconceptions and I decided “hype culture” is subjective and I’m no judge of what ppl are into ill tend to my own business. I didn’t want to seem like an edge lord. I use G from the first letter in my name and now.. G STRIFE.”
